About · genqasx Limited

Who is behind this

A fair thing to want to know before you let a new company anywhere near your bank statement or your shop’s takings. genqasx Limited is based in Vancouver, Canada, and the product is built by Ankit Sahu.

The three non-negotiables

What the product insists on

Three decisions that were made early and are not up for discussion, because they are the reason it can be handed a real file at all.

It shows the query before running it

You see the plan — which columns, which filters, the actual SQL — and you accept it. Nothing runs unseen. That is the whole difference between a tool you can check and one you have to believe.

Your file stays on your machine

The database engine runs inside your browser tab, and the model that writes the query runs on your own computer by default. There is no account to create, so there is nothing for us to hold on to.

Every run is written down

A log, on your machine, of what was done to which file and when — so a decision taken in March can still be explained in September, to an auditor or to yourself.

Background

Where the opinions come from

This is a product with strong views about how data work should go. They were formed somewhere.

Ankit has worked in enterprise data with teams at Johnson & Johnson, TD Bank, the World Bank, Canon Medical, Telus, WestJet and Keystone Automotive.
The four agents are the four jobs that kept coming back: getting an answer out of the data, proving nothing sensitive is sitting in a file, keeping the loads running, and moving off a schema nobody wants to touch.
The same four jobs turn out to be what a shop owner and a household need, at a different scale — which is why the everyday plan is aimed at them rather than at a data team with a budget.
To be exact: those are places Ankit has worked. They are not customers of genqasx, and nothing on this website should be read as them endorsing it. genqasx has no customer logos to show you yet — and we would rather say so than borrow somebody else’s.
Straight answers

What this isn’t yet

The things a page like this usually leaves out, in the order you would find them out anyway.

No customers to name. The product is new. When there are references worth showing, they will be named with permission, and not a day earlier.
No testimonials. Same reason. An invented quote is worse than an empty space.
Billing is not open. Everyday at $19 a month is a price you can reserve rather than pay, your fourteen free days start when billing does, and nothing is charged until we email you first.
Cloud and Enterprise are quoted case by case, because what they cost genuinely depends on your data volume and where it has to run.
Every figure on this website comes from a run that ships inside the app. There is a test that fails the build if one of them stops matching the product — which is the only way a claim like this one means anything.

Don’t take this page’s word for it

It is free while it is in early access, and needs no card. Point it at a file you already have and see whether it does what the rest of this site says it does.
